Obituary

Florence Anna Elizabeth Hendricks, 96, of Stuart, Florida passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Martin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stuart. Born in Wykoff, New Jersey she had been a longtime Florida resident.

In her younger years, she was a dead aim crack shot with a .38 caliber pistol. She outgunned a parade of professional female cops twice to win the International Pistol Tournament in Teaneck, New Jersey. She won the world title in 1954 by making 296 bull's-eyes out of a possible 300.  One of her best shots was shooting over her shoulder while aiming with a small hand mirror. She was also pretty good at shooting the pistol upside down and pulling the trigger with her little finger.

Florence was known for her beautiful smile and kind heart, was a mother of five, survived by her daughters Tami Molina and Arlee Roman, son Charles Hendricks, and sister Edith Hunt as well as 10 grandchildren (2 deceased), 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and many friends in Eleuthera, Bahamas where she lived for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hendricks and her two sons, Thomas and Albert Hendricks.
