Frances Jones Farmer 3/28/1927 - 9/2/2019

Frances Jones Farmer, born March 28, 1927 in Detroit, MI. Died on September 2, 2019 in Port St. Lucie, FL.

She is survived by her children Brenda Farmer Gerdes ( Paul), George (Christy), David (Rosann).  Her Grandchildren Matthew Gerdes (Christine), Kelly, Timothy (Victoria), Daniel (Diane) David, Carolyn, and Kevin (Taylor) Farmer. Her Great Grandchildren Henry, Thaxton, Andrew and Paloma Farmer. She has one Step Grandson, Ryan and two Step Great Grandchildren, Alyssa and Adam.  She is pre-deceased by her husband George T. Farmer, Sr., and her son James.

Frances met George in Tennessee when she was a student at Vanderbilt University and he was a First Sergeant in the Army.  They married in 1944.  They eventually settled in the Los Angeles vicinity and raised 4 children.  Frances worked as a training manager for the Census Bureau and retired in 1990.  She held many volunteer positions during her retirement, the latest being a volunteer at St. Lucie Medical Center.  With a great smile and a love of life, she enjoyed making friends, hosting events and keeping her family close to her heart.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Faith Episcopal Church, 6990 South Federal Highway, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952,  on Saturday, September 28, at 11:00 a.m.  A reception will follow at 3700 SE Jennings Road, Apt. 202, at 12:30 p.m.
