Francis "Spike" V. O'Neil, 89, of Stuart, Florida, formerly of Dracut, Massachusetts, passed away, Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart.
He was the husband of the late Phyllis T. (Roy) O'Neil, with whom at the time of her death in 2009, celebrated fifty years of marriage. A son of the late Edward and the late Barbara (Kelly) O'Neil, he was born May 26, 1926, in Lowell, Massachusetts and lived for many years in Dracut, until moving to Hobe Sound, Florida, then to Stuart to reside in assisted living.
"Spike" was a veteran of WW-II and a Purple Heart recipient; and retired from ExxonMobil after twenty years of service.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by siblings, Edward O'Neil, Catherine Conway, Raymond O'Neil, Thomas O'Neil, Brendan O'Neil, and Barbara Richardson.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound, Florida 33455 on Friday, October 23rd, at 11 a.m.
