Frank T. Sconzo, MD passed away on March 26, 2018 at the age of 90.  He was born October 15, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Sicilian immigrants, Frank & Elizabeth (DiGiovanni) Sconzo. He was the 11th of their 13 children.

Frank started college at the young age of 16 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa three years later from The University of Alabama. He went on to receive his Medical Degree from New York Medical College, becoming a doctor at the age of 23.

He proudly served two years in the army as a physician during the Korean War, and later became a prominent surgeon. Dr. Sconzo practiced for many years at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in Patchogue, NY.

He was a warm hearted man who loved his family and had a gift to heal. He was known for his comforting and humorous bedside manner.

Frank was a great joke and storyteller. He enjoyed playing golf and watching his alma mater football team, the Crimson Tide. He loved his Italian heritage, his beautiful Mother, and most of all his devoted wife, Marlene.

Frank is survived by his wife, Marlene; his loving children, Dr. Frank T. Jr. (Kim) Sconzo, Bruce Sconzo, Bettyjean (Keith) Simmons, Regina (John) Lepore; his five grandchildren; and his last surviving sister, Mary. In addition, he is survived by his three stepchildren, Linda Larson (Ralph Peck), Lesa (Bill) Hanson, Lea Orosz; six step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His memorial service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at l0am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. The address is 1454 SW Mapp Road, Palm City, Florida 34990.
