Obituary

Gail Janet Tomer (Paton) passed away while surrounded by family on February 4th, 2015 in Stuart, FL after a five-year battle with breast cancer. Born in New Jersey on January 25th, 1950 to Dolores and Cecil Paton, Gail was a compassionate, caring, and giving character who always sought to better the lives of others. As an admirable teacher in the Martin County School District for over 25 years, she left her legacy on the lives she touched at Hobe Sound Elementary, Pinewood Elementary, and Warfield Elementary School. Her strength and compassion will continue to live on in the actions and hearts of those she has guided throughout the years. She insisted on spending every moment making memories with her family and close friends through traveling and celebrations. Gail is survived by her mother Dolores, her brothers Gary and Ken and sister Dolores, her daughter Tara, her son Bill and daughter-in-law Shanna, her granddaughter Katie, her nieces and nephews Gary, Alyssa, Stacy, Stephanie, Kenny, Heather, and Craig, and countless others who have been by her side throughout her exemplary life. Because Gail was passionate about the happiness of those around her, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, February 12th at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, 950 SE Monterey Rd., Stuart. Please wear pink. Gail's favorite flower is a Lily. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 at the funeral home.
In honor of Gail, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to Susan G. Komen.
