George Leonard Erickson, Sr.
"Leonard"
October 10, 1929 - March 22, 2017
Leonard, 87, passed away peacefully after a brief stay at Salerno Bay, joining his beloved Clara early Wednesday morning to fish in God's oceans.
Born in Port Salerno, Leonard was one of the original commercial fisherman. He started in the family business as a young man with his Dad, John Erickson (a boat builder and commercial fisherman) an immigrant from Sweden.
Leonard married Clarice "Clara" who preceded him in death in December 2015. Clara also fished with Leonard and together they grew a crew with sons, Lenny, Carl and Mark who are still commercial fishermen in Port Salerno and daughter, Susie.
Leonard was loved by many family and friends and will be dearly missed.
