George Walter Kahl, 87, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, he moved to California at a young age, where he spent most of his life. He was a fireman for the city of Monrovia, California for thirty-five years, retiring as their Fire Chief. He then went to work for the State Department as an International Fire Marshal traveling around the world.
George had been a resident of Stuart since 2011, coming from Cove Point, Maryland. He enjoyed traveling, reading, playing Bocci, and spending time with his loving wife, Sandy.
He was a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club in California and Maryland.
Survivors include his wife Saundra "Sandy" Kahl of Stuart; two sons, Daniel and Mark Kahl; three daughters, Michelle Holman, Sheril Primeau, and Shannon Coschia; one sister, Lillian Rademacher of California; three grandsons, Alex, Gunnar, and Tyler; and one granddaughter; Megan.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on January 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Pine Lake Gardens and Estates Club House #1, 6854 SE Morningside Drive, Stuart, Florida 34997, where a reception will follow for family and friends.
