Gertrude S. Owens, 84, of Hobe Sound, Florida, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she had been a Florida resident, living in Hollywood since 1974, until moving to Port Saint Lucie in 1999. She moved to Hobe Sound a year ago.

Prior to her retirement, she was a longtime employee of Amtrak in their Hollywood Office.

Survivors include her son, Bill Owens, and his wife, Kimberly, of Jupiter, Florida, and one grandson, William Owens, III, also of Jupiter.

She was preceded in death by her beloved canine companion, "Thor".

Services and Interment will be 10:00am Friday, January 29, 2014 at the Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, under the direction of the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory of Stuart.
