Obituary

Dr. Dale Hipson, 91, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at his home on the river.

Born in Stuart, he was a graduate of University of Florida and the School of Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania. His father was the first Dentist to open a dental practice in Stuart; Dale joined his father's practice in 1953, working with his Dad until opening his own practice in 1956 in Stuart and seeing patients until he retired in 1992.

He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force.

Dr. Dale was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stuart, a former member of the Kiwanas Club of Stuart, and enjoyed working with the Audubon Society Eagle Watch Program at the DuPuis Wildlife Management Area in Martin County. He was an avid photographer, lover of nature, and true environmentalist.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sue Hipson.

Survivors include his daughter, Heidi Cody and her husband, Joseph of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; his son, Haze Hipson of Stuart; two granddaughters, Nicole Brumenschenkel and Jacqueline Bunting; two grandsons, Matthew and Jason Hipson; his loving companion, Shirley Corley of Stuart; and four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Saint Mary's Episcopal Church, 623 SE Ocean Blvd, Stuart.
