Harry Augusta Knapp, 89 of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at his home in Port St. Lucie. Born in St. Louis, MO, he had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for two years and was a former resident of Stuart, FL. Prior to retirement, he was a salesman for the electronics field. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie and a veteran of the US Air Force (Army Air Corp.) during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mary Skinner Knapp of fifty four years; four sons, David Knapp of Cape Girardeau of Missouri, Michael Knapp of Charlotte, NC, Timothy Knapp of St. Charles, MO and Daniel Knapp of Port St. Lucie; one brother, Justin Knapp of St. Louis, MO; three sisters; Maryanne Simpson of St. Louis, MO, Virginia Maier of St. Louis, MO and Jane Losey of Lakewood, CA; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa and two brothers, Robert & Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2330 Mariposa Ave., Port St. Lucie, FL.
Friends are invited to meet with the family from 6-8 PM, Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, Garden Chapel; 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, FL where a Prayer Service will be held at 7PM. Interment will be in South Florida VA National Cemetery at 11AM, Monday, August 27, 2012 with Full Military Honors.
