Helen Marie Bragassa, 77, of Marathon, passed away peacefully on May 5 ^th , 2021.  Helen spent most of her life on Grassy Key and Islamorada. Helen had several beloved friends in Stuart who walked by her side through her journey with cancer.

Helen lived for moments of being sundrenched and windblown. She was born September 25 ^th , 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to George Holtane and Helen Calhoon. Helen grew up outside New York City and worked in modeling. Helen graduated high school from Hackensack High in New Jersey. On October 3 ^rd , 1973 she married Tom Bragassa and they owned Bragassa Key Pharmacy in Marathon and were active members of the Marathon Jaycees for many years. Helen loved her fast cars and won many races in Sports Car Club of America. Helen had a gift of conversation and owned and operated a vacation rental property called Sucasa in Islamorada.  She also worked many years at Hawk's Cay, Cheeca Lodge, and for the Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by her children; son Scott (Jodi) Wagner, of Upper Arlington, Ohio; son Robert Wagner of Islamorada, Florida; son Dan (Caroline) Wagner of New Albany, Ohio; and grandchildren Charlie, Lauren, and Lily.

Her greatest passions were traveling, meeting new people, telling stories, cooking, and enjoying time with her family. She always said that she would leave this earth laughing and smiling, and she did!

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a "Celebration of Life" is scheduled . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Marathon Turtle Hospital.
