Helen Iris Ray, age 85 of Stuart, FL passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her home. Helen was born October 2, 1927 in Hayti, MO, daughter of the late James and Eula (Borer) Ray. She came to Florida in the 1960's to the Ft. Lauderdale area, eventually settling in Stuart in the 1970's where she owned and operated Helen's, a cosmetics and fragrance shop for many years. Helen was a very eccentric woman who loved her cats and will be missed by many friends, family and neighbors. Surviving are her brothers, James Ray of St. Joseph, MO and Edwin Ray of Estes Park, CO; nieces, Lisa Curran, Jama Gilpin, Anita Williams and Jane Cook; 6 great nephews and 2 great nieces. Per her wishes, cremation will take place and no public services are scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society (2585 SE Federal Hwy; Stuart, FL 34994).
