Beloved husband and father, Henry was called home by his Lord and Savior on June 18, 2018, at the age of 92. He was born on October 23, 1925, in Gleiwitz, Germany.
In 1930, his family immigrated to New York City where he lived until he was drafted into the Army. He served the USA in Germany during the Korean War. There he met Gisela Waechter, and they were married in Frankfurt, Germany.
When his tour was over, he brought his bride to the USA and settled in Connecticut where they raised a family of six children.
In 1985, Henry retired as a self-employed machinist, and he and Gisela moved to Florida where he resided until his passing. Gisela predeceased him on September 7, 2005.
Henry is survived by his children: Susan Starr (FL), Michael Starr and his wife Cheryl (CT), Janet (Starr) Murphy and her husband Bill (VA), Carol (Starr) Glaser (FL), Evelyn (Starr) Cumberland and her husband Brian (OK), and Patricia (Starr) Sailer and her husband Tom (Switzerland). Directly following, he will be interred at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, 1501 S. Kanner Hwy., Stuart, FL. Henry generously and faithfully supported Mountain View Bible Camp in PA, and the family requests that donations be sent in his honor to Mountain View Bible Camp in lieu of flowers. Mountain View Bible Camp, 99 Mountain View Lane, Danville, PA, 17821 or www.mvbcamp.org.
Henry was an ardent fisherman, but his favorite "fishing" was done on land--by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with people he met. Now, he is eternally alive rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
