Hope Blount (age 93) beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25 ^th surrounded by family members.

Hope was born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1926 and was the daughter of the late Dr. William and Elisabeth Tilton.  She was raised in Bernardsville and Summit, New Jersey and graduated from Summit High School in 1945.  After high school, Hope attended Averett College in Danville, VA and Upsala College in East Orange, NJ.  She worked in New York before moving to Miami Beach in her mid 20s, where she met and later married the late Lee Blount.  She resided in Miami for over thirty years and raised seven children. In 1980, Hope moved to Greensboro, North Carolina and worked at the Wrangler Retail Outlet before retiring in 1991 at the age of 65.  She spent the next nineteen years living in Greensboro and later Eden, NC where she was very active in the local Friends Club and spent time gardening, swimming, and reading mystery and romance novels.  In 2010, Hope moved to Stuart, Florida in order to be closer to family.

Hope is survived by her sister Joan; children Lee, Joan, Elisabeth, Douglas, Beverly, and Bryan; grandchildren David, Angela, Alyssa, Jennifer, Jeremie, Joshua, Shannon, Justin, Sarah, Sydney, Jackie, Travis, Brianna, and Brayden; and great grandchildren Joseph, Grant, Adelei, Gabriella, and Kinsley.

Besides her parents, Hope was also preceded in passing by brothers William and Robert and by her son Jeffrey.

Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of Hope's life will be postponed until a later date.
