Hoyde Edward(Ed) Duncan passed away on April 26th at the age of 90 in Stuart, Fl.
He was born and raised in Indian Trail, NC, the youngest of 5 children and the only male.  He enlisted in the Army after high school and was stationed in Hawaii. He then served in the reserves and was honorably discharged.   He returned home to NC to marry his beloved wife Pat and settled briefly in Monroe NC and Stanfield NC.

He moved his young family to Central Florida to the Orlando area (Maitland, Altamonte Springs) in the early 60's, there he began his career in Telecommunications, starting as a District Sales Representative for ITT Telecommunications then working his way up to National Sales Manager and moving to Leesburg Fl in the early 70's.  From there he relocated to Johnson City, TN in 1978 and became the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Reliance Comtec.  Another career move brought him to Bedford TX, with Teleprobe Systems as their Director of Sales and marketing, Newnan Ga then Merritt Island Fl with Northern Telecom to finish his career as the Account Manger to Southern Bell (Florida),and then to Stuart Fl to retire. He received an award as the National Salesperson of The Year with ITT Telecommunications for outstanding performance and a National award for selling the first fiber optic product within the entire Northern Telecom system to BellSouth.

Ed loved being on the water and enjoyed boating and family trips to the beach. He never missed a Happy Hour and was always ready for the dance floor!  He was a kind and caring man and wonderful Father who always had a welcoming smile and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was well known for his Hawaiian shirt attire but always dressed for success in a suit and tie in his working days! He will be dearly missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Patricia of Stuart Fl, his 3 children Pamela (Eddie) of Palm City Fl,  Amy (Jeff) of Mount Holly, NJ and Mike (Leanna) of Edgewater Fl.  He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Jessica (Evrim) of NYC, Lauren(Gabe) of Gainesville Fl, Daniel (Marybeth) of NYC, Jared of Stuart Fl, Sara and Tye of Edgewater Fl. 6 Great grandchildren, Korben, Lake, Grey, Willa, Eva and Logan.
He is also survived by his sister Ellen Duncan of Indian Trail, NC.  He was predeceased by his granddaughter Jillian.
There will be a Celebration of Life held later in the year for the immediate family.
