IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ira "Rutty"
Rutledge Crouse
June 22, 1961 – February 8, 2021
Palm City, FL - Ira Rutledge Crouse III (known by Rutty to his friends/family), age 59, the son of Rutledge (Rut) Crouse and Doris Crouse, grew up on Singer Island, FL and later moved to Palm City, FL. He passed away on February 8, 2021, at his home on the water, with his loving wife, Hedvika at his side after fighting pancreatic cancer for 3 months. His 2 sons, Ira and Brent Crouse and his sister, Anita Crouse, were visiting with him the day he died, to offer comfort and support during his last hours of this life. His cousin Buddy Norris came to visit him as well, and prayed over his body for the Holy Spirit to render Rutty a safe and painless passage to this heavenly world! Rutty enjoyed his tropical lifestyle, his passion for fishing, boating, and sailing (namely the Lougarou, his 36 ft sloup, where he and Nat Nason,1st mate and best friend, competed in the Abaco Regatta many a summer!) He was always the "life of the party" with his gregarious nature and warm and generous heart. He was held in high esteem by his fellow mates. He was the landmark personality at the Rutledge Inn where he worked most of his life, managing the beachfront hotel, known by many as a popular beach destination resort and locally frequented tiki bar for many years, founded by his grandfather and later owned by his parents until the sale of the hotel in 2005. He will be missed by so many that knew him. He is survived by his wife Hedvika, his sons, Ira and Brent Crouse, stepdaughter Brianna Parsons and his sistersAnita and Laurie Crouse. Godspeed, Rutty. Rest In Peace with the ashes of your body soon to be spread over the waves and blue depths you loved so much!--
