Jackie Ann (Ward) Barnes

September 27, 1937-December 22, 2023

Born in Nashville, Tennessee she would spend the better part of her early life in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, graduating Oak Ridge High School and enrolling in then Tennessee Polytechnic Institute.  There she would meet her husband James.  After raising a family, she pursued continuation of her education achieving a BS in Economics, Masters in English and 50 hours towards a doctorate.  She was a writer of short stories, poetry, and limericks; embraced all things literate and taught in numerous Florida universities.  She loved animals, books, gardening and Florida.   A life lived to its fullest.
