James L. Backs, 82, of Nettles Island, Jensen Beach, Florida, passed away on August 14, 2019 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay-Madeira House, Stuart, Florida.

Born in Celina, Ohio, hr had been both a seasonal and permanent resident of since 2003.

He was a veteran of the U.S Army.  He was a graduate of the University of Dayton and prior to retirement he was a computer programmer.

He had attended Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Faith Backs; his son David Backs and his wife, Treshia and his daughter Angela Haag and her husband, Brian, all of Nashville, TN, Jennifer Bradley of Jensen Beach FL; his grandchildren, LeAnn Cole and her husband Matthew, Natasha Backs, Kiersten Thompson, Emily Haag, Zachary Haag and Cassandra Haag; his great grandchild, Remy Cole and 5 siblings.  He was preceded in death by 7 siblings.

There will be a memorial service at a later date in Ohio.
