James William
Elmore
Dec 1, 1943 — Sep 19, 2018
Palm City
James passed away September 19, 2018 peacefully at Treasure Coast Hospice with his wife, Karen and life-long friend Mike Bond by his side. James fought a courageous battle; he was born December 1, 1943 in Lakeland, Florida and grew up in Cocoa Beach.
James and Karen have been together for over 30 years. They blended two amazing families together; they have five wonderful children and ten
grandchildren. James met Karen while working in Woodbury, New York for Cablevision where he worked as Vice President of Corporate Engineering. James was an integral part of building many cable systems all over the world. He lived in 26 states and 6 countries. James' last position before he officially retired was with Scientific Atlanta. James began his career with Jerrold Electronics, which is now Scientific Atlanta, and ended his final journey in Germany. James was responsible for the Regional HFC Upgrade working for the CATV Upgrade Consortium. He was
responsible for over 5,000 employees and never spoke a word of German until he took the job. James spent two and half years building the system and was loved and admired by his staff. James, Karen, Aaron and Bryan have great memories of Germany.
James and Karen moved from Huntington, Long Island in August of 1997 to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and in 1998 bought a home in Palm City, Florida. During the last 21 years, they spent many hours with their children and grandchildren boating, fishing, swimming and enjoying the beautiful tropical weather. James loved to fish and has many great memories of his fishing adventures. If you came to Florida, you were on the dock or out in the boat fishing.
James is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen; daughter, Melinda married to Chris and their four children; Sarah Nicole, Ryan, Hannah and Kristyn; daughter, Rachel married to Bobby and son, Hayes Emmett; Nicole married to Chris and son, Cooper James; Aaron married to Emily and their daughter, Layla Victoria and our newest addition, Nolan James; Bryan married to Taylor and their sons, Barrett Alexander and Ryder James.
We are gathering together to celebrate James' life; honoring the memory of a life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida 34994.
