James Patrick House, 72, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

Born in Duluth, Minnesota, he had been a resident of Florida since 1986, coming from Centereach, New York.

He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War.

Prior to his retirement, he had a successful career as an Engineer at Vought Aircraft, formerly known as Northrop Grumman. After retirement, he could not sit at home and joined Rupp Marine, working part time digitally drafting outriggers and outrigger parts.

Jim was an avid golfer and could be regularly seen at Martin County Golf Course where he was an annual member. He enjoyed many rounds of golf, playing routinely with his family and friends. If he wasn't golfing, Jim's other passion was fishing with his sons offshore on their center console creating lasting memories and fish stories.

Jim was known for his jokes and habitually making people laugh. Commonly sharing his infamous "Little Johnny" and "Sven and Ole" jokes along with "Timbuktu."

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Elizabeth House of Stuart; two sons, Ryan House (Allison House) and Sean House; three sisters, Kathy Cavese (Ronnie Cavese), Eileen Simone, Sandy Alto (Eddie Alto), and brother Peter Simone.

A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors by the United States Navy Military Honor Guard will take place on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida.
