James J. McGrath, age 86, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away on February 15, 2025 in Ft. Pierce, FL after a short illness.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a resident of Florida for 61 years. He was originally from Maspeth and served his country in the Air Force for 4 years. Prior to retiring he was an air traffic controller for the FAA. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and working on his stamp collection.

Survivors include his children, Jennifer McPherson (Perry), Cindy Gamache (Guy), MaryAnn Keno, John Aquino, Joni Lafleur (Al), Kathy Doran (Doug); grandchildren James Gamache (Rebecca), Nicole Gamache, Daniel Lafleur (Christine), Jarrett Lafleur (Lindsay) and Hannah Rose McPherson; great grandchildren Jordyn, Grayson, Maverick and Ryker.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, father James P., mother Madeline and brother Bernard.

A memorial service will be held on March 4, 2025 at 2pm at Grace Emmanuel Church in Port St. Lucie. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in James's memory to Treasure Coast Hospice, Ft. Pierce, FL. Refreshments will be served following the service.
