James V. Mitchell passed away peacefully on March 15,2024 in his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Brooklyn N.Y, he later resided in Philadelphia, Cinnaminson, Brigantine and finally found paradise in Stuart Fl. There he brightened many lives at Monterey Yacht and Country Club.

Prior to retiring Jim was a police officer for the City of Philadelphia, fraud investigator for Core States Bank and finally for the city of Brigantine he kept the community safe as a fire inspector.

Jim proudly served his country from 1955 –1957 in the Army with the 3rd Armored Division 709th Tank BN. Jim was so proud of all Americans who served their country he organized a Veterans Committee where everybody in MYCC could pay their respects to our brave soldiers.

Survivors of this great man were the love of his life Jean (Monaghan), his children Jim (Maureen) and Margie, his brother Robert, his proud grandchildren; Jimmie, Laura, PJ, Kelly, Michael, Kate and Maggie, along with his four beautiful great grandchildren, Brayden, Jax, Brynn and Emma.

Once in heaven Jim will first look for his son Michael who is deeply missed every day by all and his son-in-law Skip, who is waiting with a smile and a special meal which he prepared.

Jim will also be joining in heaven his parents Harry and Margaret, and his two brothers, twin Jerry and younger brother Harry.
