Obituary

James Elliott O'Neal, III, Age 62 passed away on March 31st, 2016.
Born on September 7th, 1953 in Hendersonville, North Carolina to the Late James Ellioitt O'Neal II and the Late Patricia Eileen Jennings O'Neal. Early Childhood and most of his Teenage Years were spent in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Family later resided in Lantana, Florida.
Jim ( or Seamus ), as his friends knew him, graduated from Lake Worth Senior High School and Palm Beach Junior College with an Associate in Arts Degree.
Subsequently, Jim attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, joined Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and also worked as a Legislative Assistant in the Florida State Senate.
Graduated with a Degree in Accounting From Florida State University in 1977.
Some time after his Graduation, Jim accepted a position as Comptroller for the Law Firm of Gunster, Yoakley, Criser and Stewart in Palm Beach County.
Later, Jim had served in the same capacity as Comptroller for Hospice of Palm Beach County.
After endeavoring for Law Firms and Community Associations, Jim "Struck Out On His Own" and pursued a career as a "Personal Accountant" for various "Private Clients".
Jim's loves were Cooking ( Indoors and in the Outdoors ), Canoeing, especially on the Peace River here in Florida; Backpacking/Camping, which he enjoyed virtually all over the United States ( particularly in our Western States ), and in both our State and National Parks . . . and "Hiking the Appalachian Trail". Lest we forget, Jim's "Prized VW Westphalia' Camper" and its Car Show Trophies.
Loved by all, Jim was the "Life of the Party" . . . and , if there wasn't one, he'd start one. Highly intelligent and extremely versed in numerous subjects, Jim astonished everyone he had met. Many of us deemed him as a future "Jeopardy Champion". He will be sorely missed.
Jim is survived by his Brother: Richard Jennings O'Neal of Lantana, Florida. Cousins: Raymond Ives of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Terra Blake of Newark, Ohio; and Father J. Elliott O'Neal: Current Base Chaplain, Stationed at Fort Sills, Oklahoma.
Per Jim's wishes, No Services, whether Formal or Privately Informal. He chose Cremation with his remains placed in a "Chock full o' Nuts" can and scattered upon "Canoe-able" Rivers.
