James Francis Stewart, Sr. 85, of Palm City, FL passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home. Mr. Stewart was born in New York, New York and had been a resident of Palm City for twenty years, coming from Bronx, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. Prior to retirement he was an NYPD Police Sergeant, and a founder of The Emerald Society NYPD Pipes and Drums.
He is survived by his sons, William D. Stewart and Daniel P. Stewart, both of Bronx, NY, James F. Stewart of Long Island, NY and Stephen A. Stewart of Palm City, FL; daughters, Susan R. Erato and Jean F. Cristoforo, both of Palm City, FL; Fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda Marie Stewart.

Services: The family will receive friends from 2-4:00PM and 6-8:00PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home; 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, FL 34994. A prayer service will follow at 6:30PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 10:00AM, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church; 1454 SW Mapp Road, Palm City, FL 34990.
