James "Jim" Vincent Mooney, age 81, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Stuart, Florida on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

He was born on August 21, 1936 in Rochester, New York.  Jim was a veteran of the United States Army.  He began his career as an accountant at Tobin's in Rochester and retired as an Information Systems Director at Unilever.  Jim was known for his intellect and his love and knowledge of sports.  He was a life-long Cubs fan and was thrilled to see them win the 2016 World Series; he will be watching his Bills win a Super Bowl from Heaven.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed the daily newspapers while watching the stock market ticker in his recliner.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Peggy; daughter Lisa (Martin) Finnegan of Walworth, New York; sons Timothy (Lidia) Mooney of Little Elm, Texas and Paul Mooney of Rochester, New York; his six grandchildren: John, Connor and Ryan Finnegan and Nikolas, Isabella and Giancarlo Mooney; sisters Mary (Douglas) Bradley and Maureen (Russell) Reid; many cousins, a niece, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 30th at 2:00pm in the Chapel of the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida. Military Honors and Presentation of the Flag by the United States Military Honor Guard will follow.

His life will be celebrated in Rochester, New York on a date to be announced.
