Obituary

James Cathcart Wright, Jr., age 89, of Fort Pierce, passed away on September 22, 2025.

He was the husband of Phyllis Jane Wright for 67 years, and father of three daughters, Deborah Brown, husband Chuck, Elaine Mulderrig husband Lee, and Tracy Lockett husband Del. He was blessed with seven grandsons, Arie and Alec Brown; Tyler Edwards; Jack, Devin, Carter and Andrew Lockett. He was preceded in  death by his beloved wife and high-school sweetheart Phyllis, parents James and Margaret Wright, Sr., and grandson, Jack Lockett. Jim married his high-school sweetheart, Phyllis in Philadelphia, PA on August 8, 1956. Their lasting love and partnership, the foundation they built, the values they shared and passed on to their children will carry their legacy of love into all their generations to follow.

Jim's work as a tool and die representative for SPS Technologies for 35 years, assisted them in travelling all over the world together, and living in communities such as, Foxcliff, Indiana and later in Ocean Village, South Hutchinson Island, Florida where they spent hours enjoying the game of golf together with friends and family. Some of Jim's favorite people in the whole world were his seven grandsons; they were a  true pride and joy in his life. Jim was an inspiring artist from a very young age, and carried the gift through his entire life. He enjoyed walking on the beach, challenging his girls and grandsons to the best body-surfing competitions, visiting his beloved childhood vacation spot - Ocean City, NJ, cruising anywhere a Jimmy Buffet song was playing with his lifelong sweetheart and enjoying his life to the fullest. Jim will be remembered by his family and friends as a believer in God, love of our country, hard-working, a wonderful father, and a loving and faithful husband to his wife Phyllis through every aspect of  life. He will be forever loved and missed on this Earth, until we are all reunited again in Heaven.

I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way
