Jerry Basham Johnson (birth date September 29, 1930) Passed away February 15, 2015 in Stuart, Florida.

Jerry was the loving husband of Sandra, devoted father of Jeff, and his wife, Rebekah, Lisa Skinner, and her husband, David, and Stephanie Rine, and her husband, Eric; dear grandfather of Sarah, Jordan, and Faith Johnson, Matthew, Joshua, Abigail, Madeline and Avalon Skinner, Rachel, Hannah and Eric Rine, Jr.

Jerry was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, to James Warren and Mary Virginia Johnson. His family made many moves around the United States, until finally settling in Royal Oak, Michigan. Jerry graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1947, and Michigan State University in 1953. He served two years in the Army Ordinance Corps as First Lt. in Korea (1953-1955). He and Sandra married in August of 1955, settling in Royal Oak. In 1973, Jerry's employer, Quality School Plan, a subsidiary of Reader's Digest, transferred him to Mansfield, Ohio.

Jerry enjoyed attending his son Jeff's sporting events, Lisa's music concerts and Stephanie's basketball and volleyball games. He retired from QSP in 1989 and moved from Mansfield, Ohio to Wellington, Florida that fall. Jerry enjoyed part time positions in the golf industry, working at Binks Forest Country Club, Green View Cove Country Club, Village Golf Club, and Harbor Ridge Yacht and Country Club in Florida.

In 2005, Jerry and Sandra moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida. They enjoyed 26 retirement years together. He loved to play Golf, Bridge, and Cribbage, and take all 19 members of his family on trips. Sandra and Jerry enjoyed several cruises together, as well as with Walt and Jo Ann Patsch (Sandra's sister and brother-in-law). Jerry delighted in hearing Sandra sing with the Palm Beach Opera. He was her biggest fan! Jerry loved and supported his family in all of their interests and endeavors.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate his Life will be held Friday, May 8, 2015, at 4:00 pm at the Port Saint Lucie Botanical Gardens, 2140 SE Westmoreland Boulevard, Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34952. A Graveside Service with Military Honors and Presentation of the Flag will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road #7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449.
