Joanne Blake, 68, of Port St. Lucie, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, surrounded by her Family.
Joanne was born March 27, 1947 in The Bronx, NY. She moved to Port St. Lucie six years ago coming from Hooksett, NH.
Joanne had worked in banking operations for a number years of in NH. She retired as a cafeteria worker from West High School, where she was fondly knowns as the "Wrapper Queen".
Joanne was a member of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.
Joanne will be remembered for her kindness, she was always willing to do anything for anybody; her love of family, she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Joanne was also known to always take care of her little brother, Danny. She was a very sociable person, she would be the life of the party, she enjoyed singing and dancing.
Joanne and her husband traveled together. She loved the Caribbean, the couple went to Barbados in February for 15 years.
She enjoyed boating, sometimes not admitting it, but she was the good luck charm. She helped land an 800 pound tuna on one of their fishing outings.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, "Eddie" Edward J. Blake;
beloved daughters, Kelli Wright, husband Dana Wright and Casey Swanson; brother, Danny Daly; sister, Lillian Minogue; cherished grandchildren, Corey, Alyssa, Alex and Patrick; and her special extended family, Lisa and Gerry Filteau and their children, Nolan and Justin.
Memorial contributions in Joanne's name may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
A Celebration of Joanne's Life will be held from 12 PM to 3 PM, Monday, February 22, 2016 at The Cove at Savannah Club, Port St. Lucie.
