Joanne Geiger died in Port St. Lucie on November 28, 2019 at the age of 82.
Joanne was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina on April 3, 1937 to Dock and Gola Norman. She was raised in Asheville, North Carolina until her senior year in high school when the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduation from high school, Joanne attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida where she met the father of her children. Joanne was a stay at home mom until her children were older and she began a career in insurance.
Joanne met the love of her life, Charles William (Bill) Geiger and the two married in 1985. The couple moved to St. Petersburg, Florida until 1998 when they moved to Port St. Lucie, FL to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Geiger is survived by her husband, Bill; sister Sue Holland (Jack Holland) of Grayson, GA; son David Florence (Judy Crest) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; daughters Carol Florence and Karen MacNamee of Port St. Lucie, FL; step-daughter Linda Courtney (Jim Courtney) of Port St. Lucie, FL; step-sons Bob Geiger (Evelyn Sullivan) of Miami Springs, FL and Jim Geiger (Liz Geiger) of Magnolia, NJ; beloved grandchildren Caitlin Perez (Victor Perez) of Stuart, FL; Nicole MacNamee of Asheville, NC; Will Geiger and Sarah Geiger of Magnolia, NJ.
A memorial service will be held on December 13, 2019 at Treasure Coast Seawinds in Stuart, FL at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
