John Fernand Cyr, 80 years old, of Jensen Beach, FL passed away peacefully on April 13, 2022.

Born in Hull, Canada, he was a Martin County resident and business owner for over 40 years.

John was a successful mechanical engineer who patented the first vertical wheel system marine autopilot.  As Owner and CEO of First Mate Marine Auto-Pilots, formally re-established as Electro Mechanical Products, John pioneered, produced and serviced countless innovations through his headquarters in Stuart, FL.

John will be remembered as a mastermind with a love for sailing & adventure.

Survivors include his Wife Sighilde Schmidt-Cyr, Children Michelle Dyer and John Paul Cyr, Grandchildren Gavin, Stella and Mia, and his Brother Pierre Cyr.
