John Michael Duarte Jr., 61, of Palm City, FL, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, at home surrounded by his wife and loved ones.

Born in San Diego, CA, John served 10 years in the USAF and retired from his service duty in Abilene, TX. After retiring from the Air Force, he moved to Florida where he proudly worked for Pratt & Whitney for 35 years. John had two passions in life: working on jet engines and fishing on his boat. Any time John was not working, you could find him on his boat, appropriately named "Bad to the Bone."

John was preceded by his father, John Michael Duarte Sr., a beloved nephew, John McLester – his namesake, his late wife, Sandra Kay (Morgan) Duarte.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie (Canapari) Duarte, his mother, Shirley Barton – CA, his stepmother, Rita G. Duarte – OR, his sisters, Sandra Lrisarri – CA, Margarette Dishman – CA, Tommie Lyman – CA, and Gloria Vezer – CA. He is also survived by his brothers, William Burgess – CA, Jeffrey Duarte – FL, Anthony Duarte – OR, and Matthew Duarte – FL. He leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and stepchildren.

A celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 1:00 PM at the Martin Downs Country Club, 3801 SW Greenwood Way, Palm City, FL 34990.
