John F. McArdle, age 86 of Hobe Sound, FL passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Salerno Bay Manor in Stuart, FL. John was born November 26, 1926 in the Bronx, NY, son of the late John and Gladys (McEvoy) McArdle. He lived most of his life in Mahwah, NJ, retiring to the Hobe Sound area in 1991. John proudly served his country during WWII in both Japan and the Philippines. He was a longtime member of the Elks #1941 in Mahwah, NJ and the VFW Post 10132 in Hobe Sound, also serving on their Honor Guard. Before retiring, John worked for Hoffman and Koos Furniture Company for over 40 years. John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty (Leduc) McArdle of Hobe Sound, FL; sons, Daniel McArdle of Hobe Sound, FL and Thomas McArdle of Patterson, NJ; his daughter, Kathy Scorria of Florida, NY; 4 grandchildren. Per his wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Hall-Bryan VFW Post 10132 (6101 SE Dixie Hwy;
Hobe Sound, Fl 33455). Arrangements are by the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Stuart, FL.
