John Mills, age 50 of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House, Fort Pierce. John was born September 29, 1962 in Perth Amboy, NJ, son of James and Mary (Gormley) Mills. He relocated to Port St. Lucie from Union Beach, NJ 24 years ago and was a Licensed Framing Contractor, building many houses from New Jersey to Florida over the years. He enjoyed cooking, entertaining and watching football. He was a fun-loving and carefree man and truly enjoyed every minute he was able to spend with his family and friends. On September 27, 1987 in Union Beach, NJ John was united in marriage to his surviving loving wife, Tina Mills. Also surviving are his 3 children, Kailey, Jonathan and Kristi Mills, all of Port St. Lucie, FL; father and step-mother, James and Barbara Mills of Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters, Janet (Lance) Schaller of Cocoa, FL, Patricia Mills of Port St. Lucie, FL, Mary (Michael) Miele of Easton, PA and Deborah Mills of Santa Barbara, CA; brothers, James (Tracy) Mills of Bradenton, FL, Billy (Diane) Mills of Ship Bottom, NJ and Timmy (Trisha) Mills of Union Beach, NJ; step-sisters, Donna Sciacovelli of Middletown, NJ and Dana Manuel of Brick, NJ; several aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Mills; his sister, Dorothy Mills; his brother, Michael Mills; 2 step-brothers, Richard and Stephan Manuel. Per his wishes, cremation will take place. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 4-5 p.m. at the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, Garden Chapel (950 SE Monterey Rd; Stuart, FL 34994), where a memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice (1201 SE Indian St.; Stuart, FL 34997).
