Obituary

John V. Natiello, Jr., age 91, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away on May 15th.  An Army veteran who served in the Korean War, John was born in Newark, New Jersey, to loving parents John and Katherine Natiello. He is survived by his siblings, younger brother Richard Natiello of New Jersey and older sister Anna Camillo of Florida.  John's parents were married for nearly 75 years.  His childhood was filled with family and love and he often reminisced about his mother's renowned Italian cooking and the cherished family gatherings at their dining room table.

John worked for many years with his father in their family-owned awning and canvas business in Morristown, NJ, and his son Billy and brother Richard also worked with him in the family business. Later, John & Carol owned a window treatment and décor boutique in Boca Raton, FL.  A devout Christian, John had a strong faith in Jesus, loved reading the Bible, and attended Morningside Church for over two decades, where he formed lasting friendships that became like family. His faith was a cornerstone of his life and helped to sustain him as he battled cancer intermittently over the years.

John met the love of his life, Carol, on a blind date.  Shortly afterward he confided to his sister Anna that he had found the woman he would marry. John and Carol enjoyed 68 years of marriage filled with love, joy and unwavering dedication to each other. Together, they raised three children: Billy, Paul, and Tracy. John worked diligently to provide for his family and his devotion to them was evident in all aspects of his life. His wife and children were the most important thing in the world to him and he was a true family man whose life shined with love, integrity and warmth.  He shared a deep bond with his sons over their mutual love for the NY Rangers and NY Giants, a connection that spanned over five decades.  Sports were one of John's greatest enjoyments in life with some of Billy and Paul's best memories growing up attending Rangers games at Madison Square Garden.  This shared love of sports continued over his lifetime with his beloved grandsons.  John's daughter Tracy, who cherished her father from day one, regarded him as the epitome of a loving and devoted father.  She was always happy to be "daddy's little girl".

John is survived by his wife Carol, children Bill (Dottie) Natiello, Paul (Linda) Natiello and Tracy (Scott) Savoia, and his grandchildren Derek Natiello, Brandon (Brianna) Natiello, Justin Natiello, Dylan Natiello, Jonathan (Gina) Slaughter, Trent (Jade) Savoia, Ty Savoia, and Hunter.

John's passing leaves a significant void in the lives of his wife, children, family and friends. They take comfort in the belief that he is now in the arms of Jesus, healed and free. His remarkable life and the profound impact he had on those around him will always be remembered. His family will miss him deeply and eagerly anticipates the day they will be reunited with him.
