IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John E.
Peterson
November 30, 1934 – April 12, 2022
John Peterson, 87, of Stuart Florida, passed away on April 12 th , surrounded by his loving children, at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Stuart.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois and has been a resident of Stuart for the past 32 years coming from Wheeling Illinois where they lived for 30 years.
Prior to retiring he was an Electrician. He was a member of the Local 134 IBEW for 70 years.
John was very proud of his Swedish roots, and loved to take all of us children, as well as his grandchildren to the 'Swedish' part of Chicago where he grew up. There we would visit the Swedish museum, and then go to Simon's, the Swedish bar across the street where we could see an old photo of our grandfather, his dad, on the wall.
He was also well known for his hugging ability. Nobody could hug like our dad, and boy are we longing for one now!
John was so involved with all of his children's activities while growing up, that he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at their high school. He enjoyed nothing more than getting together with family and friends and going out to his favorite restaurants. He was a very active member of his church, he loved singing and enjoyed being a part of the choir and worship team there, as well as helping out wherever he could with planting, building, and fixing things. Above all else, he had a strong Faith in Jesus, and lead by example what it means to be a fruitful and faithful Christian.
Survivors include his children, Dave Peterson (Marilyn Miller), Kim (Bill) Talaber, Mark Peterson, Laura (Peter) Mueller, Randy (Anne) Peterson. 10 grandchildren, John Talaber, Mike (Erin) Talaber, Megan (Victor) Wallin, Kristin Talaber, Nick (Katlyn) Mueller, Kelsey Peterson, Mary, Kate, Erin and Luke Peterson. He also has 9 great grandchildren, lots of friends and a whole bunch of church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erick and Anna Peterson, his siblings, Donelda and Jack Olander, Eileen and Harold Eklow, and Fred and Annely Peterson. Also, by his loving wife of 60 years, Pearl Peterson.
