John Edward Polley, 65, of Stuart, FL. passed away surrounded by his wife and children on February 11, 2022.

John spent his childhood in Wyandotte, MI. before moving to Stuart for college at Florida Institute of Technology, where he met his wife and graduated with his Bachelor's degree.

Prior to his retirement John acted as the Director of Utilities and Solid Waste for Martin County. He worked for the County for over 32 years.

He is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Ixa Gutierrez, and his two children, Rachel Volchko of Fort Pierce (and John) and Edward Polley of Stuart. He had one grandchild (that he adored) Emma Volchko. He also leaves behind two sisters, Phyllis Reed of Wyandotte, MI and Patricia Warnock of Pontiac, MI, and one brother, William Polley of Grosse Ile, MI.

He told the best stories, gave the best hugs, and was the best dad and grandfather. He was so kind and generous. His loss will be felt forever. The world is a little darker now with him gone.
