John F. Potyra, 67, of Stuart, Florida, died April 26, 2014 at his home.

Born in Manchester, Connecticut, he had been a resident of Stuart for 2 years, coming from South Windsor, Connecticut, where he had previously lived for 66 years.

John was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army.

Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Allied Printing in Manchester, for more than 40 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Jean P. Potyra, of Stuart; 2 daughters, Dorothy A. Potyra, of Palm City, and Leslie (Glenn) Panyotoplus, of South Windsor; 1 brother, James (Rosemary) Potyra, of Stuart; sister-in-law, Janet Potyra, of Tolland, Connecticut; and 2 grandsons, Nick and Dalton.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Potyra.

A Service to Celebrate His Life will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart.
Interment will take place at a later date in Wapping Cemetery, in Connecticut
