John "Jack" Roberts of Hobe Sound, FL, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019. He was born on January 21, 1949 in Newark, NJ, but grew up in Kearny, NJ. After graduating from Jersey City State College, he was a special education teacher in Hazlet, NJ, for 31 years, retiring to Hobe Sound, Florida in 2005. He spent all his summers before retiring as a lifeguard in Belmar, NJ, and later as the Seagirt, NJ, beach manager.

Jack had many passions in life. He was an avid canoer and kayaker who won many competitions. He loved camping, hiking, fishing, and riding his bike. He was an excellent cook and loved cooking for crowds. He had a green thumb and grew a variety of plants and herbs. He spent Saturdays watching his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Rutger's Scarlet Knights, and most every other college football team. He enjoyed history and the American Civil War and World War II were favorites of his.

Jack is survived by his significant other of 28 years Maria Hallowich and her family, and his brothers Tom Roberts, Steve Roberts (wife, Noreen) , Doug Roberts, his sister Barbara Roberts, nieces Courtney, Shannon, Becky, and his nephew Alex.

He is predeceased by his parents and recently his brother Billv Roberts.

There are so many wonderful Jack Roberts' stories to share that he will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held on Friday, March 8,2019 at 4 - 6 P.M. at Treasure Coast Seawinds in Stuart with a Time to Remember and Share beginning at 5 P. M.
