John Paul Shortell's Obituary
John Paul Shortell, 84, of Hobe Sound, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home.
Born in Glen Cove, New York, he and his wife were snowbirds at Eaglewood for the last seventeen years and was a parishioner of Saint Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound.
He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Prior to his retirement, John was an international importer/exporter of thoroughbred race horses. He was
Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Dorothea Shortell; two sons, John and William Shortell; two daughters, Patricia Rocco and Elizabeth Shortell; twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shortell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Christopher Catholic Church, 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound in the near future with date and time to be announced.
