Obituary

Joseph Edward McLean, 68, of Hobe Sound, Florida, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at the Cleveland Clinic Martin Health System South in Stuart, Florida.

Born April 2, 1952 in West Palm Beach, Florida, he was a resident there of 53 years, before moving to Hobe Sound with the love of his life, Linda, for twenty years.

Joseph graduated with accolades from Lake Worth High School and was a graduate of Palm Beach State College.

He was licensed as a Certified Residential Contractor by the Construction Licensing Board for "Major" construction companies in South Florida. NLS Communities Building and Design (Vice President), Centex Corporation, Gordon Homes, Ocean Drive development and was certified as a Mold Inspector; he also became a Private Construction Consultant.

Joe enjoyed fishing, diving, crafting incredible art, and going to the family home in the Keys. He enjoyed getaways to walk in the sand. Joey was a great (secret) dancer to music.  He loved challenges, he and his brothers and sisters would have through the years, sometimes not always agreeing, but always loving.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Joseph McLean, his brother, Thomas Edward McLean, and his brother-in-law, Stanley Card.

Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Linda Purcell McLean of Hobe Sound; his mother, Margaret McLean of West Palm Beach, Florida; his children, Patty (Card) Knox, and her husband, Robert of Blairsville, Ohio, Florida, Melissa (Purcell) Kacinari, and her husband, Njac of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Michael Purcell and his wife, Gretchen of Greer, South Carolina, and Joseph Purcell of Burton Ohio; his brother, Douglas McLean of West Palm Beach, his sister Terri Williams of Orlando Florida and his sister-in-law, Karen McLean of Vero Beach, Florida; and his grandchildren, Tiffany, AJ, Ethan and Lilly Purcell, Kaitlyn and Kyle Kacinari, Ryan and Brooklyn Holden;  his nieces, Kara, Megan, Kacey, and Kelli; his nephews, Ryan, Brandon, Ben, and Jason; and many family members and loved ones here and in Ohio.
