Joseph A. Smith, 81, of Stuart/ Hobe Sound, Florida passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart, Florida.

Joseph had been a resident of Stuart/ Hobe Sound area for thirty years, coming from New York.

Joe and Ellen loved their family boating adventures together. He also enjoyed wood working, pottery, hunting and fishing and most of all his dogs. Joe Loved HIS (7) Deadly ZINS!

Mr. Smith served our country honorably in the United States Navy.

Joseph was a dedicated educator for thirty years and also thoroughly enjoyed his custom boat finishing business.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Ellen Smith, of Stuart/ Hobe Sound; his daughters, Jo Marie (Mary Jo) Smith, Lisa (Gary) Brown, and Jocelyn (Chris) Rondina; his sons, Craig Smith, Jonathan Fair, Alex (Kathleen) Fair; his sister; Joyce (Sam) Cherchia; his brother in-law, Dr. Larry (Claire) Shields; eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Sydney, Olivia, Abigail, Calum, Ruby, Malcolm and Spencer, also nine Treasured nephews.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Ellen's Residence.
