IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Josephine Ann
Miller
November 30, 1941 – February 16, 2021
Josephine "Jo" MIller passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, February 16th in the kind care of the Hay Madera Hospice House of Stuart. Jo was reunited with her husband Harold who passed nearly 16 years ago. She was survived by her five children: Janet Rudd (Jim), Mike Miller (Lori), Connie Grace (Rusty), Todd Miller (Alicia), and the youngest and probably favorite Scott Miller (Dana). She was the grandmother of ten and the great grandmother of 5, with number 6 on the way.
Jo lived in St. Lucie County for over four decades. Over those years she was able to leave a lasting mark in the community. She helped put Fort Pierce softball on the map by winning the USSSA Softball Coed National Championship as a coach and mother. She was a huge supporter of little league baseball. Jo served on the board, including her time as president, coached and cheered endlessly in the stands at Lyngate Park. She would later move on to dedicate her time to the booster club at Port St Lucie High School. It was here that she was able to make lasting impressions on the football stadium, baseball, and softball fields for generations to come. She could always be seen and heard cheering on her grandchildren at their games and events.
While doing all of this she was still a dedicated mother and wife. She loved coffee and her favorite holiday was Christmas. Her Christmas decoration addiction was contagious and is evident in her children. She was a second mom to many and she welcomed you into her home at any time for any reason. Her work ethic would shame almost anyone born after 2000. She was a leading example of the greatest generation. She was known and loved by many. Her memory will live on in so many great stories, all of which are accompanied with a smile.
Her family will be having a Celebration of Life on March 13th from 2-4 p.m. at the Firefighter Union Hall, 11201 W Midway Rd., Fort Pierce. All are welcome to stop in and pay their respects.
For those who wish, contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Treasure Coast Hospice at Treasure Health, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997, or at 772/403-4500 or on line at www.treasurehealth.org in Josephine's memory.
Please feel free to share a remembrance or message of condolence with the family through this online guestbook.
