Junius H. Rose, III, MD "Skip", 67, passed away on September 2, 2023 in Ocean Breeze, Florida.

Skip was born in Chapel Hill, NC on November 5, 1955.  He was the son of Sarah and June Rose of Kinston, NC.  He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UNC Chapel Hill and was a graduate of the UNC School of Medicine.  He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Southern California.  He practiced psychiatry for 36 years including a private practice and Medical Director of Delta Behavioral Health in Wilmington, NC

He is survived by his son, Will Rose of Camden County, NC, his father June Rose of Kinston, NC, and his sister Liz Rose, her husband Doug Miller and Lin Miller of Blowing Rock, NC.

Skip loved coastal NC where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley.  His sense of humor and smile would light up any room.  He was a brilliant and compassionate psychiatrist and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

There will be a Memorial Service at 11:am on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 at the Westminster United Methodist Church, 1001 Westminster Ln, Kinston, NC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lenoir County SPCA to honor his beloved dog, "Bullit"; 2455 Rouse Road Exd, Kinston, NC 28504.
