Obituary

Justin Klahne's journey on this earth came to an end on July 25, 2023 at 30 years old. Justin was born in Stuart and lived in Palm City for most of his life. Justin graduated from Martin County High School in 2011 and briefly attended the University of North Florida. Justin moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2015 and worked in the cannabis industry. He returned to Florida in 2019 and worked at Red Barn Furniture in Stuart as the warehouse manager and assembler.

Justin was an extremely talented, self-taught, award winning jewelry designer, creating one-of-a-kind sterling silver wire wrapped pendants with inlaid precious stones. His work was exhibited at the Courthouse Cultural Center, Elliott Museum and the Palm Room Gallery and Boutique. Justin was a member of the Martin County Artisans Guild. He was a regular participating artist in the monthly Downtown Stuart Creek District Art Walk. Working tirelessly to perfect his skills, designing jewelry became the most important component of Justin's mental health therapy.

One of Justin's proudest accomplishments was becoming an Eagle Scout at the age of fourteen. He enjoyed hiking the North Cheyenne Canyon area of Colorado Springs and has backpacked many miles of the Appalachian Trail. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Justin played youth and high school lacrosse and also participated with the Treasure Coast Rowing Club. He had a love for music of all varieties and enjoyed attending music festivals and concerts.

Despite battling bipolar disorder his entire adult life, he managed all of these accomplishments with grace and was highly respected by his peers. He was always known for his sunny disposition and impeccable manners. Due to his eternal optimism his nickname was Lucky.

Justin is survived by his parents, Ray and Sue Klahne of Palm City, FL, his sister, Taylor Daggett and her husband Donald Daggett of Port St Lucie, FL, his maternal grand-parents William and Francyne Wilson of Lake Placid, FL, his paternal grand-mother, Dorothy Klahne (predeceased by his paternal grand-father, Charles Klahne) of Gaffney, SC, aunts and uncles Sheri Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Cindy Klahne, Chuck Klahne, Kathleen White and Robert Klahne, cousins Kyle, Kristina, Jenna, Shelby, Izabella, Ariella, Morgan, Samantha, Ashlea, Carlea, Amber and his beloved service dog, Indie.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Justin's name to New Horizons of the Treasure Coast, a local mental health facility.
