Kathleen Cummings McCrum died at age 80 on September 11, 2014 in Hobe Sound, Florida. Kathleen (Kathy) was born on August 7, 1934 and grew up in NYC where she attended Catholic Schools. Her parents, the late John and Margaret (Gallagher) Cummings were from County Mayo, Ireland and raised their three children in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.

Kathy is predeceased by an older brother William (Bill) Cummings of Secaucus, NJ and a younger sister Noreen (Cummings) O'Connor of Hastings, NY and later Toms River, NJ.

Kathy's career in fashion began as a young teenager modeling for Bergdorf Goodman in NYC. In 1951, she married Lynn M. McCrum and together they had five children and lived in Europe, Japan and many parts of the US.

She is survived by her husband Lynn of Hobe Sound, Florida, and five children: Lynn Jr and his wife Jackie of El Paso, Texas; Michael and his wife Chris of Larchmont, NY; Mark and his wife Maureen of Briarcliff Manor, NY; Karen (McCrum) Leon and her husband Bob of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and Kevin McCrum of Pensacola, Florida.

Her grandchildren are: Ian, Kaitlin, Corinne (Cori), Lynn III, Brody, Harley and Sean. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Joan Cummings, a cousin Gloria Bowers and many nieces and nephews.

During the 1960s, Kathy continued her haute couture modeling career while living in Europe and working for such famous designers as Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. Kathy especially loved her years in Paris and learned to speak French fluently.

Later, she enjoyed a successful career as a real estate broker for Houlihan Lawrence in Westchester County, NY. Kathy loved to travel and ski, and had a keen interest in fashion and interior decorating. She was always very close with her family, keeping in touch by phone and enjoying family get-togethers whenever possible. The mere mention of her dog Toto always brought a smile to her face. She was very much a lover of dogs and animals in general.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:30 pm Saturday, September 20th at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, FL 34994.. A ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 PM.
