IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin Paul
Simacek
July 4, 1964 – September 11, 2024
Kevin Paul Simacek, 60, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2024. Born in Flushing, NY, to Frank Simacek and the late Edna Jane VanHise, Kevin had called Florida home for the past three years, following residences in Texas, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Kevin was a devoted father, a faithful Catholic, and a cherished friend. He grew up in Millstone, NJ, and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Criminal Justice. Over his lifetime, Kevin worked as a District Court Commissioner and a preschool teacher. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life as he volunteered with numerous organizations. As a teenager, he earned his Eagle Scout rank, served on his community's first aid squad, and was a lector at his church. In his adult years, he was a church usher, an Extraordinary Minister of Communion, a golf course starter, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
Kevin was known for his ability to bring a smile to those around him, often through jokes, corny one-liners, and good-natured pranks. He valued his neighbors, always ready for a chat or to lend a helping hand, and was affectionately known as the "mayor of the block" in every neighborhood he lived in. Above all, Kevin was a proud father to his two sons. His dedication to coaching youth sports and supporting his sons at every game and event will be fondly remembered.
Kevin had a passion for cooking, music, and attending Navy football games. His holiday treats and delicious meals were renowned, often leaving everyone wanting more. His love for music was evident as he would turn up the volume on his car stereo, ensuring that his arrival was announced by the sounds of 1970s bands resonating throughout the house.
In his final years, Kevin displayed remarkable courage and resilience. His 27-month battle with cancer was marked by unwavering optimism and determination. Though his struggle was immense, he faced it with a positive outlook and fought bravely until the end. He can now find peace, knowing he gave his all.
Kevin is survived by his sons, Samuel and Gavin Simacek; his wife, Kirstin Mikalauskas; and his father, Frank Simacek.
