Larry Lee Donnell, 83, of Jensen Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2026. He was born in March 1942 in Florida and was raised on a farm in Leipsic, Ohio.

After graduating high school, Larry went into the US Air Force in Biloxi, MS, as a Computer Systems Instructor. His focus was on electronics, telecommunications, and computer programming in the early 1960s. After his military experience, he worked for a government service company in Germany for three years. Once returning to the states, his career took off climbing the corporate ladder from Program Manager at Raytheon Data Systems in Norwood, MA, to Vice President of Digital Voice Corporation in Dallas, TX.

Larry was known for his passion for learning and for his pause in thinking to ensure he was accurately conveying his sentiment. He loved a good-natured debate and frequently engaged in long conversations on philosophical and political matters. He was generous with his knowledge and was a patient teacher.

Larry was a jack of all trades and master of them all, including designs for carpentry, electrical and plumbing projects; veterinary skills; adept legal negotiations; and gourmet culinary expertise with spices and sauces. Larry enjoyed boating, fishing, and lobster dives in the New England area. In 1978, he caught a 118-pounder blue marlin in Stuart, FL.

Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Spears; son, Tony Donnell; granddaughter, Elisha Hummel; sister, Janet Kratzer; and parents, Cloyce and Margaret Donnell.

Surviving relatives are his beloved wife of 38 years, Kathy Donnell, of FL; stepdaughter, Victoria Hunt (Mark), of MA; 8 grandchildren: Jennifer Naughton (Dan) of FL; Samantha and Khristina Spears of OH; Morgan Hambright (Dylan) of MT; Jonah and Miranda Donnell of OH; Elizabeth (Stephanie) and Benjamin Hunt of MA; as well as 9 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter; 5 nieces: Linda (John), Trisha (Rob), Jamie, Lisa (Justin), Renée; 4 nephews: Chris (Marc), Bruce (Jennifer), Billy (Ash), Jason; 9 great nieces and 8 great nephews; sister and brothers-in-law: Margie and Tom Johnson of CO, and Joe Hardiman of TN; cousins, schoolmates, and friends in CA, FL, MA, OH, TX , and VA.

A private Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 17, from 4-8 pm, in Jensen Beach.
