IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry E
Risser
December 1, 1939 – June 29, 2023
Larry E Risser, 83, of Stuart, FL passed peacefully into his heavenly home on June 29, 2023.
His family and friends lovingly cared for him during his illness. They are comforted knowing that, because of his faith in Christ, he's with the Lord now, and they will be reunited with him some day in Heaven.
Larry was born on December 1,1939 to the late John and Josephine Risser in Richland, PA. He, with his parents and his brother, Roger, and sisters, Drucille and Noretta, moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 1953. Larry worked at his father's service stations in Boca as a youngster, and after graduating from Seacrest High School, went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for three years.
Upon returning home from the Navy, he met his future wife, Patricia Stahl, and they married in 1964. They resided in Boca Raton, where he worked as an electrician and they grew their family with the births of two children, Jill and Micah. The family relocated to Palm City, Florida in 1973, where Larry continued to work as an electrician for over 30 years, until his retirement in 2000.
He was a unique and talented servant of the Lord, both in his church and throughout the community. He forever touched the lives of all who knew him, always there to help whenever a need arose, and his laugh could brighten even the gloomiest day. When Larry wasn't helping someone or fixing something or building the best cornhole boards around, you could usually find him out on his boat. He loved to fish and crab trap. He and Pat also enjoyed many camping trips with their family and friends, as well as cruises and other adventures to numerous destinations both here and abroad. The annual family vacation to Helen, GA was something he especially looked forward to all year. He loved activities like tubing, hiking, and white water rafting with those he loved so much.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Pat, and two children Jill Risser of Palm City and Micah Risser of Ft. Pierce. He's loved and greatly admired by his five grandchildren: Michael (Melissa) Whalen, Kathleen Whalen, Timothy Whalen (Bianca), Kristin Whalen, and Bryce Risser.
He's also survived by his sisters, Drucille Gardner of Boca Raton and Noretta Elder of Boynton Beach and brother-in-law, Paul Huber of Jacksonville, along with his cherished nieces and nephews: Dave(Cindy), Tim, Stephen(Jennifer),Gwen, Sharon, Terrie(Russell), David(Lisa), Alisa and all their children.
