Lawrence J MacDonald, 85, of Scituate, MA (in retirement Port Saint Lucie, FL) passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

A devoted husband, father, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley MacDonald, the seven children they shared between the two of them (Barbara, Linda, Debbie, John, Cindy, Greg, Stephen), their numerous grandchildren.

Born on January 28, 1939, in Boston, MA, Larry lived a life full of adventure and joy. His happiest moments were spent with his beloved wife, Shirley, to whom he was married for 44 years. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with shared passions and unwavering love.

Pops had a lifelong love of the lobsters and the fishes in the ocean. He loved catching them, not so much eating them. He found peace in fishing, and boating. Whether casting a line in the surf, wading through the intra-coastal or trolling the open waters.

All who knew him, knew the joy that he received driving the motorcycles he owned and his cherished red chevy pick-up truck. The long rides with his son that all throughout Florida have left a permanent mark on John's heart.

He was equally at home in the theatre, where he enjoyed the magic of performance and the family he fostered. His warmth and kindness were a constant source of inspiration to all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held on January 17th at 2:30 pm at the clubhouse in the Spanish Lakes retirement community. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the life of a truly remarkable man. A private affair will also be held in Scituate, MA in April for family.

He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, and boundless love for his family and the world around him.
