Lelia B. Rogers, 110 years old, passed away on 15 December 2018 at the Hay-Madiera Hospice house in Stuart, FL. She was a resident of Hobe Sound, FL and a former resident of Tampa, FL for about 60 years.  She was born 09 February 1908 in Crowe Valley, Whitfield County, GA to Julian R. and Helen (Pierce) Oxford.  She attained a seventh grade education at the Waring School, a one room rural school house.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother J. B. Oxford, her daughter Nellie (Dupree) Piety, her grandson, Kevin Piety of Sebring, FL and her husbands, Glen Carden, Raymond Dupree, Harry Vinson, and Robert J. Rogers.   At the time of her death she had been widowed for over 50 years.

She resided for the past 14 years with her son, R. Julian Rogers and his wife, Estaline (Allison) Rogers.  She is also survived by a daughter, Lorraine (Dupree) Smith, Rock Hill, SC, three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of various congregations of the Church of the Nazarene since the 1930's, and served in various positions of service, including teacher, treasurer, secretary and member of the board of trustees.  She was a member of the Hobe Sound Bible Church for the past 14 years.

A Memorial Service will be held 27 December 2018, at the Jacaranda Hotel in Avon Park, FL.  She will be interred at the Popular Springs Baptist Church, Whitfield County, GA.

Memorial gifts may be sent to Hobe Sound Bible College (PO Box 1065, Hobe Sound, FL 33475), an organization she supported with her gifts and prayers since its inception in 1960.
